PATRIOTISM

THE DAR’S COMMITMENT TO PATRIOTISM

Patriotism is at the heart of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Since 1890, members have worked to honor those who serve and to foster a spirit of respect and love for our nation.

NSDAR chapters across the country support veterans and active-duty military through service projects, care packages, and volunteer efforts. Members participate in ceremonies and events that honor those who gave their lives for freedom, and they work to ensure that the American flag is displayed and respected in schools, communities, and public spaces.

By promoting patriotism, Daughters not only honor the sacrifices of the past but also inspire future generations to value and protect the freedoms we enjoy today. Visit the NSDAR website to learn more about Patriotism.

OUR CHAPTER’S PATRIOTISM EFFORTS

  • WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA

The Jacob Gaskins Chapter, NSDAR, hosts Wreaths Across America at North Canton Cemetery, honoring veterans through an annual fundraiser. Community members may purchase wreaths from any chapter member to be placed locally or at the graves of veterans buried elsewhere. Not only does this activity allow the chapter to honor our military veterans who were laid to rest locally, but it also helps the chapter raise funds to support local projects.

  • SERVICE IN SECONDS

The Jacob Gaskins Chapter, NSDAR, participates in Service in Seconds, engaging in quick yet impactful service projects that benefit the community. Activities may include writing letters of gratitude to active-duty military, veterans, and first responders; creating pick-me-up jars filled with notes of encouragement for teachers; and partnering with a local food pantry to write encouraging notes on paper bags used to deliver meals to those in need.
