CHAPTER MEMBERS AND FAMILIES GATHER FOR SUMMER POTLUCK PICNIC
Chapter Members and Their Families Enjoy Food, Fellowship, and a Celebration of the Support that Has Helped the Jacob Gaskins Chapter Grow During Its First Year
Members of the Jacob Gaskins Chapter, NSDAR, proudly wore pink during the Chapter Family Potluck Picnic in support of the Ohio Society DAR Cherry Blossom Initiative.
North Canton, OH — Members of the Jacob Gaskins Chapter, NSDAR, and their families gathered July 19 for the chapter’s annual Family Potluck Picnic at the University of Mount Union’s Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center.
With warm summer temperatures expected, the group enjoyed the comfort of the Nature Center’s air-conditioned facility while sharing a meal and spending time together. Members and their families brought a variety of main dishes, side dishes, and desserts to share, creating a delicious afternoon of fellowship.
During the gathering, guests also enjoyed a brief program from the Nature Center’s Adam Zorn, who highlighted the facilities and natural surroundings that make the location a valuable community resource.
The picnic also provided an opportunity for the chapter to participate in several Ohio Society DAR initiatives. Daughters attending the event wore pink for a special “Pink-Out” group photo in support of the Cherry Blossom and State Honor Roll initiatives.
The gathering was also an opportunity to recognize the spouses and family members who have supported the Jacob Gaskins Chapter during its first year. Those who have assisted with chapter activities were recognized for their contributions and support with certificates of appreciation.
