FRENCH CONNECTION PROGRAM EXPLORES OHIO’S EARLY HISTORY
The Jacob Gaskins Chapter, NSDAR, recently hosted its March meeting featuring a program on French influence in early Ohio and the vital role of France in supporting the colonists during the American Revolution. The presentation was offered by the Chapter Registrar Brenda Wahl.

REGENT MARTIN SHIVELY APPOINTED LIAISON TO NEW STATE EFFORT
Regent Stephanie Martin Shively has been appointed an Ohio liaison representing the Northeastern District for a new initiative recognizing overlooked Patriots, including women, African Americans, Native Americans, and other underrepresented individuals.

The Jacob Gaskins Chapter, NSDAR, held its inaugural meeting in September at Arrowhead Golf and Event Center — which is located on land once owned by the chapter’s namesake and local notable figure, Jacob Gaskins, a freed slave and Underground Railroad conductor.
NATIONAL WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA EFFORT COMING TO NORTH CANTON
The Jacob Gaskins Chapter, NSDAR, will host the national Wreaths Across America program at North Canton Cemetery in December, honoring the 300+ veterans laid to rest there and offering the community opportunities to sponsor or lay wreaths for veterans buried locally and elsewhere.

The Jacob Gaskins Chapter, NSDAR, has named its inaugural officers, including Regent Stephanie Martin Shively and a full leadership team, to guide the new North Canton chapter in promoting patriotism, preserving local history, and supporting community initiatives.

The Jacob Gaskins Chapter, NSDAR, was officially organized in May, welcoming 30 founding members. Named for Jacob Gaskins, who was born into slavery in 1792, the chapter aims to honor his legacy while supporting patriotic and genealogical initiatives in Stark County.
